Intro
After months of review, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission has unanimously approved Cypress Development’s plans for a 15 building development over nearly 23 acres at 150 NW 68 Street. The site, tucked between Mcnab and Andrews Ave, is the former home of the Pan American mobile home park. The project will also include 146 units (15% of the total) of affordable housing at 120% AMI or less for a period of at least 30 years. Requested approvals included a parking reduction, building length (361 feet instead of 300 feet), and setbacks from the primary road.
Project Details
Designed by MSA Architects, the project blends contemporary and conservative elements with stone, wood and metal features. Pedestrian walking paths along a lake connect the site internally and help create a sense of community. The site features 10 buildings including multifamily units and 5 buildings for townhomes, built over three phases. Additional amenities besides the lake include several clubhouses and a pool courtyard. Over 1,500 parking spaces are included, primarily in structured parking decks. The unit mix includes one, two and three-bedroom units as well as rowhomes (primarily ones and twos) ranging from approximately 800 sq. ft. to 2100 sq. ft., with the median square footage being approximately 1,000 sq. ft.
